Major Matt Mason

Roger Ramjet - and his Proton Energy Pills ("PEP"), which give him "the strength of twenty atom bombs for a period of twenty seconds". What a great message for little kids.....if you really need to get something done, pop some pills. No wonder I turned out so well.

Some of my favourites that may not have already been mentioned:

From Films
Cliff (Bill Campbell) from The Rocketeer
All of the characters from Wing And A Prayer, especially Don Ameche's Bingo Harper
Billy Covington (Robert Downey Jr) and Gene Ryack (Mel Gibson) in Air America
Warrant Officer "Mr" Warwick (Michael Bates) in Battle of Britain

From TV
Sgt Alan Farmer (Tim Woodward) in Wings
Squadron Leader Rex (also Tim Woodward) in Piece of Cake
Moggy Cattermole (Neil Dudgeon) in Piece of Cake
'Uncle' Callaway and 'Skull' Skullion in Piece of Cake
As a kid I liked Jack Ruskin (Roy Marsden) in Airline but I haven't seen that in about 18 years.

Is he the crew chief that calls all the pilots college boy?

A few more from me are;
Joe and Brian Hackett(Wings)

Speaking of Mechanics we would have to include Lowell from Wings.

The Air America Gguys are great too. ALso like "Wierd Neil" in that movie, based on the real "Wierd Neil" that flew C-123's in Air America.
"That's it, the Golden BB" I knew it was coming."

I'm shocked, Vlado, shocked. They'd pull your licence for such a blind spot in Britain.

All pilots get called 'Biggles' in the (British) meeja.

Another vote for James Bigglesworth, operational fighter pilot in W.W.I and II, in between, and flying to defeat villains until the 70s.

I thought Mr Bigglesworth was Dr. Evil's bald cat. I never stop learning.

If you had ever heard from someone " Oh you have a job like Lowell on Wings" you would not mention it.

I thought I had posted this already but I must have hit the wrong button again. A lot of my favorites have already been taken but here are a few.

Charley Varrick, "The Last of the Independents" (Walter Mathau)

Kitty Sanborn, (Suzanne Pleshette) Wings of Fire

CAG Richard Owens (James Farentino) The Final Countdown

Major Paul Winter, A character in a short story by a British writer that I can't remember. The story had an incredible twist at the end.

The Pilot in Frederick Forsyth's The Shepherd

The lead pilot characters in Ernest K Gann's aviation books.
