Besides, aren't most people on here using some form of nickname/handle? Okay, so I stuck my name out there for public perview, but, being a Don Martin is like being a John Smith, so I figure my True Identity is still safe! And who is this "Agent86" anyway?!  Carry on , Oh Colonal, My Colonel! MOXIE :tonqe:

Allow me here, to use one of my few "fifty cent" words:

BALDERDASH!!!

Rob, how many here are members of the CAF?

Aren't we also "Colonels" by the Grace of Jethro Culpeper, and the suitable payment of an annual fee of $200? (CAF, Wing, Squadron fees)? No one is dissing the military at all.

What about Col. Sanders, of Kentucky Chicken fame . . . well, that's another story . . .

Cool by me, Rob; you can call yourself adjutant of the 69th Joto Batallion if that suits you (BTW Joto means gay but in a worst connotaion) but it is an old joke . . .

Anyone should be able to tell the difference between a joke, and statements in support of a militia, and those statements have never been made by you nor by anyone else here, as far back as I can recall.

Saludos,

Tulio

Hi Rob!

I'm an ex Petty Officer and an ex "Company" Corporal, and I ain't got a problem with it. Besides, you guys were screwing around and probably f****d up and made you a light Colonel. Where as I, one of these decades, am gonna write the CAF one of those fancy checks to do some rank jumpin, with the stipulation that I get to be a Bird Colonel. Not that I want to tell folks what to do or anything like that, I just think it'd be cool to go to the O-club for some cool drinks,, hmmmm.......aahhhhhh...

..ohhhhwaitaminute

Do O-gangers have strippers in their clubs? I'm not sure, but I don't think so,,,,so,,,I think, maybe, it's a good idea I stay a Second Class and make sure all of the paperwork and hole digging goes ok.

The CAF can still have their check. On second, third and fourth thought though, It would be cool to have a CAF "Bird" Colonel T shirt, hat, jacket, or something, with the "Bird" flying on it.....hehehhehehehehe, maybe a new insignia, ahhh maannn, time to sleep

i never was in the military, but i have a pair of major's oakleaf clusters on my repro a-2 flight jacket for authenticity & in salute of my father's attained ww2 army rank. i have never been accused of imitating a ww 2 vet  :P & i have never p.o.'d any veteran or current active military person in wearing it. honestly some people are so anal & self righteous. what should all the military re-enactors do?? should we execute col. sanders for making his chicken under an assumed rank?? along with all the other kentucky colonels??? for $20.00 anybody can officially buy the title of colonel. robb i have a good solution...... for all that you regularly contribute to this site, promote your self to general!!! best, tom

Do we still have a militia "problem" in the US? Was it ever a real problem? It seems like alot of it is just macho posturing, paranoia filled websites and bluffing, running around with guns shooting at non human targets in some backwoods place like Montana. I have a tape of a racist militia group featured on Prime Time Live in May 97, that's become a legendary running comedy routine amongst my brother and my then roomate it's so unbelievably silly...the guy on there says his militia is "going to start a race war and go into neighborhoods and start shooting and the cops will join in". I mean come on, this never happened, never will happen. The reason this tape is so funny is because these people and their statements are as stupid as Canada's "The Defender": the biggest idiots on earth.

Mike,

I don't want to start an argument, but using your logic wouldn't it be more appropriate to bust the colonel down to major?

Sorry Rob...that one was almost too easy. :P

Some people apparently have even more free time than I do...! Zzzzzzzzzz...

Unless you get your jollies by seeing "The Kernel" burst a blood vessel over stuff like this, just give it a rest and deal with it. There are far more interesting and important things in the warbird world than the origin of Rob Rohr's WIX handle.

The only thing I hate is seeing all the CAP boys and girls running around with 10 rows of ribbons saying please back away from the airplane sir. Having come by ribbons the hard way it's a tab annoying seeing 15 year olds with more awards than Audie Murpky and well me.. The only thing about the reenactors is when they wear pinks and greens they're always fighter pilots with tons of combat ribbons. I could never do that.

Don't some people have anything better to do? You can use Conl. Signed Generaly Broken Wrench

I’d be more offended if he wore a real rank like Naval Captain.
