I think it's safe to say that this is a photographic view that has never EVER been taken before. 8) A perfectly original shot of a very historic duo.

You lucky.... well... I am envious! Kind of surreal as well considering the historical significance of the two airframe types!

THANKS FOR SHARING!

Mike

Jim,

Nice pictures of the tour. I was in the twin Beech with you on the photo shoot from Marysville to Chico. It was hard trying to decide whether to go for the ride in one of the bombers, or do the photoshoot with the two planes together. I'm glad I stuck to my orginal plans for the air to air stuff.

When was the last time that these two planes flew together in the same airspace? 1945-1947?
Amazing!!!

Finally I'm home, the lawn mowed and time to jump on the WIX for my fix and get to view the shots you posted Jim.

WOW. Great! What a sight.

It was quite the sight to behold. The speed is really amazing. We were cruising at around 175mph and the did a head on intercept, when I say they, the Fouga and the 262. The 262 broke into a hard left turn and closed in on us in a matter of seconds. His slats were hanging out the whole time he was in formation. It was really menacing having him off our wing. Steve ran the ball turret down and tracked him the entire time...and got some pretty amazing shots from the ball turret. Thanks for all the kind words..someday I'll find time to do a book.

Jim
