Just scanning some of my old prints I've taken..a bit grainy but some interesting formations from the Batavia, NY airshow.

Great shots of Ed Shipley and Jim Beasley in the Corsair and Mustang.

Wow! That Tigercat takeoff roll with Dale Snodgrass in the F-14 is my all-time favorite airshow moment. If I'm not mistaken, I think that was Batavia in 94 or 95. Those were great shows with a field full of warbirds.

It was June 1996. Doesn't seem that long ago.

I visited Batavia (it was my second airshow, I think it may have been 96). I vividly remember sitting in traffic waiting to get into the show and seeing a formation of huge blue airplanes roaring over my families station wagon. (I am pretty sure it was a Grumman cat flight.)

I think the VHS from the show may still be at my parents house.

I had heard a little while back that plans were in the works to get both the Anson and Crane flying again, but I'm not sure what the timeframe is or whether they are still going to do it.

Funny, aint it? The youngest aircraft in those pictures we will never see fly again.
