This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Ok...never been there but I plan on going now. A F-100 has just been added to the show!

You got my attention! Do you have a link to an airshow web site?

http://westfieldairshow.net/An F-100! This show has my attention too. Looks like it is a 3 hour ride.

Wow, that's terrific news. According to the photo shown with the performers link it looks like Dean Cutshall's F-100F will be making the trip from Ft. Wayne, IN to Massachusetts for the show.
I have been trying to catch up to this Super Sabre for years without success. It's 409 miles/7 1/2 hours from my home in Northern Virginia to Westfield. I had thought about trying to make the 580 mile/9 1/2 hour drive to the Indianapolis Air Show in June to see the Super Sabre, but even if it is there it looks llike it would only be the usual flybys with no landings or takeoffs.
Unless the F-100 ends up as an unexpected addition to Oshkosh which I will be attending for the first time in late July, I may have to strongly consider going to Westfield in August.
Hopefully we will get confirmation that the Super Sabre is a flying participant in the show (listing under "Acts" would seem to suggest that).
I love that H-34, also.
Looks like a great show.

Looks like fun, but how come the jet powered outhouse only does 70 mph on 1000 hp?

Because it has the aerodynamics of an outhouse.

Because by the time it gets up to 70mph, it's full!
Going 70 in something like that would scare the S**t out me!

Never been to this show but its about 4 hours for me. Some say don't hold your breath as this F-100 tends to not show up at shows. But hell if there is just a 10% of a F-100 flying at a show I am going!!

Might be my only chance EVER to see a F-100 fly. Geeezuuss!

I hope the traffic and parking situation is fixed this year. Spent 3 hours on the highway crawling at 2 miles an hour. Saw the Thunderbolt "Jackey's Revenge" from the road though. After the third hour my father and I finally decided to turn around and head for the Mcdonalds that was closest to the airfield. Got to see "Skyboss" do a few manuvers and do a heritage flight with an F-18. But it still sucked that Westover couldnt figure out the traffic situation.

So did the F-14, but it went pretty fast.

Chris;
Are you talking about traffic problems at Westover, or Westfield or both?
Westfield is this year and they usually alternate years. I've never had a bad traffic problem at Westfield.

I can still remember when the Thunderbirds flew the Hun. What an impressive sight! Lots of noise and smoke. I grew up at Eglin AFB and we always had an F-100 or two even up until the mid-70s. It was neat when the Thunderbirds would taxi in after the show and would pick that time to show that the Slot positions (#4) tail was NOT painted black. Way cool.

Oh boy do I feel stupid.

I never realized the difference between the two! If last year was Westover than yes I just meant that year. But Im still a little confused. Are both of these shows held at the same field? Or seperate fields? I want to say I've visited both in past years.

Westfield and Westover are 2 different airfields about 8 or 9 miles apart. Westover is an Air Force base, and Westfield is a Air National Guard base. Westfield used to have the A-10's based there, but now I think they have the F-15's that used to be at Otis.

The Mass. Air Guard flew F-100s out of Barnes Field at Westfield, Mass.
