It was a pleasure meeting all of the fellow WIXers Friday and Saturday (I even bumped into Cindy and Paul at Starbucks Sunday morning). Despite the foul weather on Friday, and several cancelled arrivals, the HAG folks managed to put on a great show. You will never find another airshow that is as up-close and personal, in such a relaxed atmosphere as Geneseo. Many thanks to Dan McCue, Terry Rush (spelling?), and Jim Vocell - the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet - for smoking some cigars with us and entertaining all of our dumb questions. Dan McCue took us over to the Corsair for some great photos. My friends and I are already talking over our plans for next year.

Mike--

Sorry, should've made that clearer! URN is 18073. 18074 was also present; I had not seen 074 before and thought it was neat that two sequential aircraft were there. I don't recall what the c/r was on 074.

No apologies necessary Steve! Thanks for the clarification.

Here is the latest version of the list...

#4: DH-82C: What was the ID of this yellow bird? Did anyone get down to that end of the field to see the c/r? Whas it CF-CKF?

#5: Ultimate 10: Anyone get the c/r? As I mentioned before I don't usually pay attention to the stunt planes.

That is it for now. Let me know if you are interested in a copy of the list.

Mike

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

I tried to get a shot of the ID plate on the Me-108 (Nord N 1002 ?) in the hanger but it did not come out. Does anyone have the ID on that Airframe? It appears to be W# 097 but that doesn't seem to work, that A/c is in Spain.

Here are a few from the Henniger photo studios...

Image
...the three IOC qualified judges on break. Unfortunately Tim and Kelly hadn't arrived by then.

Image
...later in full form and hard a work. Apparently the alias' are an inside joke. I still don't "get it".

Image
...this of course is the group shot, taken on Saturday. Missing are Eric Dumigan, Pat M., Cindy (who arrived Sunday), Tim Cox and Al Moore. Am I forgetting anyone?

Image
...of course we had to turn around to admire the nose art. This time it was Catherine's turn to get the butt shot. And Ryan is trying to do the decent thing.

Anyone notice how quickly CAP cadets reproduce in the background of the photos of the gals? They are like bloody rabbits!

Anyone know where I can get a pair of NOS Mk. I buttocks? As you can see mine are worn down.

Here are a sampling of the few pictures I have from the show. Most were taken by my Wife, Kelly. She seems to be able to see the picture not the A/C. I'm working on that, but it's very tough for me.

I'll update with some of mine very soon!

Hmmm
I guess I'll have to fix that. Seems the registry will also need to be updated.

Thanks for the correction, seeing as I have a bunch of pictures to name and I hate re-naming pictures again and again.

Hello All,

This is only my second post on the board, but just wanted to say how much I'm glad to have gotten back to Geneseo! It was my first 'warbird' airshow in 1988 and it was amazing then with 6 B-17's, 5 P-51's etc...
My last one was in '93 before the split with NWM and again an amazing show, CWH's Lanc was at that one. Talking to some of the folks from HAG, it seems like they have been gradually building the show back up since the split with NWM, and it appears that it will, if not already be the show to attend if you fly or just love warbirds. It is the best place by far! Where else to see 4 B-25's 2 corsairs.....

If there was a disappointment it was that NONE of the Russel group showed up. I heard from some folks at HAG that the pilots of the Spit/Hurri did not get to come over from the UK. And with the wet weather on Friday/Sat they made the choice to not send the 109 due to runway concerns. Any one have any more details on that?

What would I like to see next time? Just hope HAG keeps the momentem going and keep bringing them in in numbers! Also, is there anyway to twist CWH's arm and get them to bring the LANC in? Hamilton can't be that far. (Or maybe even the Firefly and B-25) Also hope next time to maybe meet some of y'all.

Cheers,
Peter B.
