Welcome to WIX Nathan!

You ask a very generic question. You may not get a good response. Maybe it would be better to ask something like... What is your favorite bomer from WWII? Or... What is your favorite century fighter including Russian designs from that era?

Any way... I hope you don't mind the critique, and never been afraid to pose a question on WIX despite my critique.

...Or you might run across somebody like me, who very decidedly does play favourites overall. To misquote Porsche AG's advertising department...

"Sea Fury. There is no substitute".

OK then, I'll play...

...except for the Mustang in the long range or the Spitfire in the short range.

(sorry for being so predictable, but I calls em like I seems em)

Too many planes... thinking about this question makes my head feel like it's going to explode. Kind of like the computer in Wargames.
I guess P-51 is the safe easy answer, but i tend to love those rare birds that we will more than likely never see in the air again.

F7F Tigercat

I built the 1/72 Monogram model as a boy. Since then, I've always thought it was a beautiful plane. I got to see one at Frederick (Maryland) about a decade ago. It's even more impressive in person.
