This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

There is nothing new under the sun with this deal! They have been talking about it since 2001. $15.5 million a piece plus pocket change. As soon as something more concrete is known C/w.com will be posting a few samples from DM, AZ. Photo UKN. C/w.com. Series (9xx)
p.s BTW today is the 36th anniversary of the 1OOHrs War!

15.5 million !!!!....a piece ? I guess there are problems with that deal. Especially since the ENTIRE fleet of recently upgraded, nearly flyable, New Zealand A-4s are on the market WITH spares for about 35 million !

How many A-4s Skyhawks have the NZ folks for sale? Can you expand on the "recently upgraded, nearly flyable" comments? Avionics, powerplants, etc.Tks A-4 Skyhawk buff/FAH619.
p.s Circa 1978-80 a similar deal was in the works with FAH (Honduran AF)but it never materialized.

Well, let me think. I think there are 16 aircraft overall. I believe two are TA-4s. The engines are J-52 P8Bs. The big change was in the cockpits. They are now glass and look like miniature F-16 panels. Combat capability was also upgraded. The wings were rebuilt and I understand each aircraft has a rebuilt spare wing available. They were all flying until the end on 2003 when the Prime Minister ordered them grounded, pickled, hangared and offered up for sale. One single seat and one TA were kept in flyable condition for demo to prospective clients until they too were parked about 6 months ago. These aircraft are known as A-4 Kahue(sp?).
I've got some pictures but can't seem to post them. I can email them to someone if they would post them.

Tks for the info/data.
This is something that the FAS folks may be interesting in checking out! I'm sure Tulio will spread the word to them. Tks. NZ A-4s Skyhawks, Woodbourne, NZ photo rickH via C/w.com
