15.5 million !!!!....a piece ? I guess there are problems with that deal. Especially since the ENTIRE fleet of recently upgraded, nearly flyable, New Zealand A-4s are on the market WITH spares for about 35 million !

p.s Circa 1978-80 a similar deal was in the works with FAH (Honduran AF)but it never materialized.

Well, let me think. I think there are 16 aircraft overall. I believe two are TA-4s. The engines are J-52 P8Bs. The big change was in the cockpits. They are now glass and look like miniature F-16 panels. Combat capability was also upgraded. The wings were rebuilt and I understand each aircraft has a rebuilt spare wing available. They were all flying until the end on 2003 when the Prime Minister ordered them grounded, pickled, hangared and offered up for sale. One single seat and one TA were kept in flyable condition for demo to prospective clients until they too were parked about 6 months ago. These aircraft are known as A-4 Kahue(sp?).
