hhbbbb translates into howard hughes's bawble brings big bucks - an international auction house recently sold a huge diamond / emerald ring that hughes gave to actress / squeeze terry moore. the auction gavel hit for $46000.00 total. if i recall he gave the same ring before to a number of other hollywood babes he was stringing along in the 1940's. not an aviation history item, but ole howie is always worth chatting about. he was a brilliant aviation pioneer / womanizer / wacko, but he still has my respect & admiration. best, tom
