Getting more pieces on Bald Eagle-
Inner Gear Door now installed-

Making adjustments-

You deal with Old Airplane Syndrome with these. Figuring out if the well used part can continue or whether it has reached the point of retirement.
Factors are whether it still has its original shape. On some items being out of shape will cause interference or rubbing on things it shouldn't.
Those things will make their mark-



This bump causes some of the issues-

New rear half was made and welded onto the original. This is what shows-

Jim & Rich, will the Spitfire be on display in Reading on Friday? I am looking forward to seeing it. Jim you put on a great display last year, it looked like you were having a blast.

I have a spot for him to do a demo in the Spitfire on Friday if he can make it up to Reading. I know last I talked with Jim, he was going to try and get there Friday and will be doing a demo for sure on Saturday. Weather permitting the airplane will be there on Sunday but there will not be a demo on Sunday.

Assuming Rich permits me to fly it and the weather cooperates I'm going Friday for the practice. Tom Duffy and I are planning on meeting ahead of time and try to fly in together. I'll also be there Sat but Sunday I'm stuck at a family event. Why do people plan anything except going to Reading on D day?

Been a busy day here,
Scott Germain was here this morning shooting the Spit for an upcoming magazine feature.
We flew 3 sorties, 2 with Spit and the T-6G and the last with our SNJ carrying Scotty to photograph the T-6G.
All went well until the last part of the last flight when Andrew had a sticky throttle on the T-6G.
Replacement carb from Aero Engines will be here in the morning.
In no particular order-








Finished the sequence valve rigging today-

I poked the camera in the wheel well so that it was looking on top of the wheel while retracted in the wing.
Gives a view of how close everything is crammed in there.

Proper use of a roll of kitchen towels-


The offending carb on the T-6G-
The Throttle arm shows a gap between the idle stop and the arm with the screw to adjust idle speed. This gap is about 1/2" and is where the throttle binds
so that Andrew couldn't slow the engine below 25"-

In talking with the Carb guy at Aero Engines he suspects something in the accelerator pump as that has pretty tight tolerances with a piston in its bore.
It happened during flight and was noticed when he tried to reduce power after breaking off to RTB.
He was able to loosen friction knob and hammer throttle with his fist to slow the engine.
It only has maybe 70+ hrs since overhaul.
