A place where restoration project-type threads can go to avoid falling off the main page in the WIX hangar. Feel free to start threads on Restoration projects and/or warbird maintenance here. Named in memoriam for Gary Austin, a good friend of the site and known as RetroAviation here. He will be sorely missed.

Most people are not aware, but Skeeter takes a mean photo of engine runs. This one was on Thursday May 27.

Midland Fire Department stands at the ready...

Engine one fires right up.

Engine two fires right up.

Sorry, but for engine three and four, Skeeter ran out of CF card. What do you expect from a hangar cat anyway? :D

Be sure to join the CAF in celebrating Memorial Day and see FIFI roll-out of the hangar for a four-engine run-up! We are excited to see FIFI moving closer to her first flight later this summer. Come out to the CAF at 2 p.m. to see and hear all four new B-29 engines start-up for the first time!"

Outstanding!

So will Monday be the ACTUAL first start-up or the OFFICIAL first start-up?

Any other questions??

Dave

If anyone has one or can make one, let me know!

Dave, I think I have one of these that you can use for a pattern if you like! Let me see if I can find it..

How nice of the City to give her a nice bath before her first flight.

Great to see her up and running again. Can't wait to see the pics of her in the air.
