richkolasa wrote:Hello and thanks for the compliment. Regarding equipment, I use the Sony HDR-FX1 for ground shots and the Sony HDR-HC9 (palm-camera, but Mini-DV tape) for air-to-air. I wasn't too sure how it would do shooting from a BT-13 (nicknamed VIBRATOR)so I kept shots to a minimum, but I got some decent shots just hand-holding. About 3-4 times the duration that's in this video is the total of what I got.
richkolasa wrote:Fluid head? Tripod? That's a thing you have to carry around, right? I use a lot of water and gatorade at shows, that's about as "fluid-head" as I get.
I do have a Manfrotto head, but never bought legs, so everything I do is hand-held. With 2 camera bodies, 5 lenses minimum, and two video cameras to lug around, no tripod for me at this stage.

I am aware of only one source for the rumor, which came from the Classic Wings Issue 60 article "Boston/Havoc Survivors", found on p.42 which was included in the description of A-20G s/n 43-9436, aka "Big Nig". In the same paragraph, the author states, "Murray acquired a further two airframes from the RAAF, one of which will be restored to fly for Jerry Yagen of Virginia, USA. The identities of these two airframes are not determined with any degree of certainty until they can be fully inspected, but are thought to be s/n 42-86615 and s/n 42-86772." Only Jerry Yagen and his organization can say with certainty what he is restoring. I hope we can learn if its true, its been hanging out there too long.
We don't do 'rumours' We get our info from the source (i.e. in this case Griffiths and Yagen). Issue 60 was some three years ago, so as to whether things have changed re the A-20 (often these things do) I can't comment on, and when we can, we will do so. We are looking to have an update on Precision projects in the next issue......

Well that would explain everything. Apparently Yagen has sold the A-20(s) project(s) that he had. Thanks DaveM2!
As far as the "rumor" thing, I wasn't talking about you DaveM2 or Classic Wings magazine. I was referring to another individual in my previous reply.

As to whether Yagen has sold (or not) his A-20 project that is for him to release, and nothing I have said confirms either way.....
CraigQ wrote:If there is an A-20 headed this way then it's the best kept secret Gerald has, been here almost 2 years and have not heard a thing about an A-20. Lots of other things though, but not an A-20.
CraigQ wrote:Not saying there's not an A-20 somewhere in some condition, but only that there has not been any mention of one under restoration or incoming since I have been in the shop. We normally get occasional updates of what's being built and the progress with pictures. Examples of that are of the 190, P-39 (none lately though), Mossie, Dragon Rapide etc. Latest word is of a Lag-9 but have not heard a timetable. No doubt there is a lot we don't see but again, in 2 years I've heard nothing of an A-20, I will ask about it though.

The wealth of information there is truly incredible. I don't know why you have those problems, but from what I've read on the forums is that people typically have issues with AVCHD or HDV when they try to edit those raw files on the timeline of Vegas without undergoing a conversion to an intermediary codec like Cineform. Unless you have a very new, very fast, multi-core CPU computer, editing the raw files on the timeline is not recommended. Also, and I'm sure you know this, but you can't judge your previews by what you see on the preview screen. The transitions WILL be choppy on all but the most newest computers as they can't keep the frame rates up high. The final rendered transitions however, will look normal.

'Tweren't me! But if you'd have added moral turpitude to your comment it would almost sound like a
Buford T. Justice quote!

Thanks DaveM2. Yes, I understand, but I think we can infer some things based off of what Craig Q said. I think Craig Q's quotes pretty much sum it up:CraigQ wrote:If there is an A-20 headed this way then it's the best kept secret Gerald has, been here almost 2 years and have not heard a thing about an A-20. Let me make clear here that I am in no capacity an official 'spokesperson' for anyone but myself, I speak only for myself as a mech on the FF floor. Whether there is an A-20 in the pipeline I cannot say, only that in the two years I have been on board there has been no mention or talk of one in the shop. No one else on the floor I mentioned it to has heard of one either and as already mentioned, we usually get an update from time to time on what's coming along. But an A-20 would be cool alongside the B-25 & A-26 though!
This can be put in the 'for what it's worth' file.
