Each year Jim Greeson, Dan Schiffer, Dan-O Connor, John Feldvary, Bob Pingston, and several other pilots from around the area get together and fly over several Memorial day parades around the Southeastern Michigan area. Today there were 9 pilots arriving in Tecumseh to take part in this annual event to honor those who are serving, have served, and those who have given their lives in the service of our country fighting for our freedoms that we enjoy each and every day.

Few Photos from today.

Nice shots Eric. I'm in Dearborn not too far off the parade route and I enjoy watching those guys fly over overy year. I had no idea they staged in Tecumseh. I a big T-6 fan so if I can remember I'll have to head out there next Memorial day. Karl

Tecumseh is where they meet early in the morning. They ususally start arriving between 6:30 and 7:00am depending on the weather. This year the weather was a little iffy that early in the morning as there were thunderstorms just south of Tecumseh at 6:30. They usually arrive in groups of 2-3, and once everyone is on the ground they go into town and have breakfast. They return about 8:30 or so and do their pre-flight brief, go over radio calls, discuss the formation positions, go through the different formations they will be flying, discuss emergency proceedures, do a walk through of what they will be doing in the air, and then go fly it.

It is really alot of fun to see the process that they go through to fly these formations for the parades. The attention to safety that is discussed throughout their pre-flight brief so that everyone know what to expect.
