Great photos, WIXer Greg! It was nice to talk to you and fellow WIXer Flying Illini. I'll try to post a few photos this evening. Old Hot Stuff showed the folks that she still has what it takes.

This image was taken at about 1:30 in the afternoon on Saturday. Not only can you see Matt Younkin's beautiful Beech 18 off our right wing, but off his nose you can see the grass parking lot.

Yeah, but the grass alongside the runway looks pretty dry, they should have parked cars there. Tee hee... :D

The Beech 18 demo was great! As were the Horsemen! We had a great time in spite of the heat. Well, I did and my son and Dad did. My wife and Mom were quite as enthusiastic! Tried to stop to say hi to you IndyJen, but it was pretty crowded and by then, my boy was wiped out. It was his first airshow (he's 20 months) and he must have said airplane about a hundred times!

I'll post some pics when I get them uploaded.

Which day were you there, Django? Would have liked to say hello. That Twin Beech is something else. We saw Matt and the Beech at Peoria last year and they did a show over the river at night. Lots of strobes on the plane and fireworks that come out of the wingtips. It was one of THE coolest things I have ever seen.

We were there Sunday. I think it was hotter than when we went the last time in '07 in AUGUST! I had big ideas of hitting each plane with associated WIXers to say hello, but with so many people there and the heat, I didn't get to meet anyone! :( Although I did see Jim Beasley (I think) throwing a football over by the Mustangs. My Mom said that next time, just my Dad and myself should go. My wife agreed! Hahaha! Although surprisingly my wife said she would go again if it wasn't so hot out. It took me 5 years to get her to go to another air show, after the '05 Thunder (her first airshow), when we did air crew reenacting for about 10 hours in 90° heat.

This morning I was showing my son pics from the airshow on the camera. He said "airplane show". That made my day.

Saturday wasn't a bad day for a Mustang ride either!!!

Brad Hood flew the late Tom Wood's P-51 for the airshow's tribute to Tom and the legacy he left behind... Brad commented that this Mustang was one of the smoothest-running that he's ever flown and very mechanically sound!!!
