COMVEC Military Vehicle/ Armor show

Mon Jun 14, 2010 4:44 pm

Spent last Saturday up in Chester. CT at the 33rd annual COMVEC vehicle show. Great little show filled with nice pieces and plenty of deals at the vendor tables. We ended up getting rained out halfway through the day but thats just the luck of the draw sometimes. I showed up with a booth for the CASC to drum up funds for our group. (So there is something airplane related in this thread!) Jerry O'Neill was on hand with his own Jeep. Pics are below. Trust me you cant miss his. Ask him how he drives with those eyes in the windshield! Other CASC members like my father, Rich Olsen, Jimmy D'Amico and his girlfriend were on hand to help us out and bring a stronger presence for the museum. And now to the pics.

Nice pics Chris!
That was the first time I drove my jeep in the rain! I've had it since 2001 and it's never seen any water except two washes.Just two weeks before, I put working wiper blades on and luckily, we brought the rear canvas, sides and bows with us to the show. Just before we left, we put them on and my buddy Dave and my two grandsons rode for forty minutes and didn't get wet. BTW, the canvas had never seen rain either. It was an original top I located from the 1940's and the owner NEVER used it. Sixty years later and it gets it's first test! Passed with flying colors!

Hey Chris, I'm going to look at two CJ-2A's stored in a barn this week. Maybe we can get you one after all!
Jerry

Yeah let me know what you turn up! Might just have to see how deep my pockets are! Well I do have to get a new car so...... Sorry to all the Wixers out there for the photos that are huge. I just don't freaking understand Photobucket sometimes. I made sure all the shots were small, checked, double checked and now for some reason some are huge! Geeeez thats annoying. :x
