Man, the weather
sucked, couldn't get good photos at all.
I was with the re-enactor group, and set up tents on Friday, watched a 4-ship P-51 formation and like an idiot didn't grab my camera, because the weather was good that day and the three of the 'stangs left and didn't come back...

The WX was most definitely a hassle as evidenced by the show control frequency buzzing both days coordinating alternate altitudes, substitutions, etc. When those of us flying helicopter demos have to start looking at the weather, you know it was bad! Everyone in the air and on the ground did a great job keeping up morale and making it work though. The jet teams really put on nice displays, but the PNW has some harcore airshow fans! Hopefully next year will be better.

gotta love the "wet" coast
I am from Vancouver, BC and those pictures make me homesick!
I live in Dubai, where today its a miserable 45 degrees C, and endless clear skies and sunshine,
I miss rain!
(the airplanes look great too)

Where else can you attend an air show and study the fluid dynamics of water pouring off the surfaces of an F-4 in AB? We're a tough group up here, and won't let a little rain slow down our fun! By the way, when the Granleys go XC to a show, they actually fly with much less separation, something to do with both father and son having been in the SNOWBIRDS.
Nice pix considering new camera and lead for backdrops.

Well, it feels very odd today to be at work and thinking about how I didn't get to the show this year.
I was up late Friday night helping my friend Bob put decals on his IAR-823 in hopes to show it off there on Saturday.
Saturday morning came and the ceiling at Paine Field wasn't too bad but Tacoma and Olympia weren't promising. We waited it out for a while and got to see the FHC Rata and Emil warm-up flights. We eventually decided to give it a go even though Tacoma was still up in the air. The flight was quite smooth until we got past Seattle and we had a little rain. Once we got to Tacoma it got kinda ugly. Special VFR was requested and an option to go over the Narrows bridge was there but comfort and safety has to come first so we headed back north. Besides, if we did make it there was no guarantee we'd have been able to get back that night (which would've left a very unhappy dog in my house). On the way back we buzzed Seattle Center and circled Fremont where Bob's wife was at the Solstice Parade. We made it back to Paine Field in time to see the noon FHC Fly Day.
Sunday started the same way except Everett was only about 500' and hadn't lifted by 9:00. Travel by air was called and I got ready to go by land. It was just so gloomy and by the time I made it as far as the Museum of Flight I decided to abort my trip. I knew I wasn't gonna get much for decent shots and with how cruddy my financial situation is right now any money I could save would be a good thing. I feel bad I didn't get to see my friends and hopefully meet some I only know from online.
Now that it's officially summer I hope the weather decides to shape up cuz this garbage has been ridiculous.

Actually, Bud was never a Snowbird. Ross and his brother Chris were.
We had a great time at Olympia. The trip was too short and we're now waiting for our plane in SLC. The weather was a mess this year but I still think we pulled off a great airshow considering the situation. Some of the noise complaints we recieved at the museum are pretty funny. I'm hoping they were all saved on a CD. My wife took a ride in the Cobra and over all we had a good time visiting with our friends and playing with things that fly.

It was a fine show! The F18 pilot was lucky that door didnt come off and go down the intake! I think I saw your wife on Sat she looked very much like the woman in some of the pictures you have posted. As far as noise complaints did you hear about the blind dog $hitting its self while trying to escape threw the chimney?
