Only seven of these brave heros are still with us now.

I just found out from Capt. Pat Jopling that we have lost another Raider. He lived in California, I think.
LtC Frank A. Kappler was Crew #11 Navigator. More details when I get them.

Godspeed Frank. Thanks for your service especially taking part in the raid that originated in Shangrila!

Very sad that only 7 of them are left. It was an honor to meet R.E. Cole and David Thatcher at the WWII Weekend.

I'm grateful that we still have as many as we do. Think of how many of us here will likely be alive in 68 years!

I was just looking at the Doolittle raider display case at the Air Force Museum last friday and was saddened by how few cups remain upright. Goodspeed to all of the raiders, alive or deceased. Saying that they went above and beyond is a huge understatement.

Dear Raider Family & Friends:
It is with deep sadness that I have to advise you that Lt. Col. Frank A.
Kappeler passed away this morning at his home in Santa Rosa, California. He
will be greatly missed and our thoughts and prayers are with Betty and his
family.
When the funeral arrangements are finalized we will let you know.

Sincerely,
Tom

I'm hoping for 6-8, let alone 68!
