I'm curious what puts the P-40 in the restoration category rather than maintenance?

I make it out there every year or two generally, whenever I'm in the Dallas area on business. Wouldn't miss it!

Good question. It's kinda both. While it was demated, we decided to redo the cockpit and firewall forward. New avionics, panel, rewiring, new hydraulic lines, engine overhaul, prop. overhaul, etc. It is more than just maintenance, but not really a full restoration as the paint and fabric are only 10 years old or so. As for the Panther; it has combat history, and is the only "flyable" F9F around. It falls into the catagory of the B25, too perfect and too much history. It would be great to have it flying for 2011. I wouldn't plan it though. The F86 is still waiting on an engine.

Can you count the B-29 'Fifi'? Would be cool if she were moved to Addison. :)
