A couple guys said they would like to see some pics I have colorized, so here goes. I will only do a few at a time cause I'm still on dial-up, and photobucket takes a while to upload.
Hope the moderators will let this thread hang around the hanger before moving it off to the photo gallery. :D

Those are really cool! Please post more. Very cool perspective. I love the B-17 engine change

Are those GREAT pictures or what!!! Yes, keep them coming. BTW, the photo showing the line-up of the many B-24's is defintely taken at Kwajalein.

Picture #2, 12599 is flying past Mt. Rainier so it's either a test flight out of Seattle or a P.R. shot as Boeing still uses 'the big guy' as a standard backdrop for pictures. THe 299 never got it's family picture taken flying past and any that may show up are 'dark room artistry'. Mt. Rainier is also the site of the crash of a model 307 'STRATOLINER' after spinning in with two engines feathered on a test hop, causing Boeing to enlarge the vertical fin to B-17E size.
The lenticular clouds over the summit indicate a weather change coming in 12 hours and later served as inspiration for Maj. Wayne Aho to declare 'flying saucers' exist as sometimes they stck up in a really cool looking formation over the summit.

Thanks folks. As ya'll can tell, nearly all I have done so far is AAF. I am going to do some Navy/Marine stuff soon, and if some of them turn out OK, I'll try getting them up too.

The P-47 getting maintained in the hangar under the No Smoking sign (Rauchen Verboten).
looks just like Building 1036 at Wiesbaden Army Airfield. Still in use by the US Army.
Any other info on this Pic?
