This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I live three miles south of the Oakland County International Airport (Oakland/Pontiac Airport) in Michigan. While walking my dog tonight, I saw two A-10s doing a couple of touch and go's before heading east, probably to Selfridge.

A nice unexptected treat on a beautiful evening.

B-25D "Yankee Warrior" flew over my house Friday morning at less than 1000 AGL. She's in town for this weekend's airshow. As we only live a mile from the airport, I expect the Fast Movers to be ripping our shingles off all weekend. I may brave the 90+ temps on Sunday and check out the show..YW is the only warbird listed, but the AF Heritage Flight F-4 is there, as well as an F-22, and I've never seen one of those fly.

Hello all,I live near the flight path of O.C. (John Wayne) airport,During the day,I hear the usual Turbines,Turboprops and Putt-Putt G.A. Lycomings,Continentals,etc.etc.However,Every now and then ,I will hear the unmistakable roar of a round engine,I run out side and see Mr. Lyon's B-17(still Fuddy Duddy?) Numerous B-25's,an Occasional C-47/dc-3 and other fun stuff. its kinda cool to walk outside and see them fly overhead.

Darn, what time was that for Pacific Prowler? I was there in the morning.
This evening I saw a PT-17, PT-19, OV-1D, AD-5, OH-13, FM-2, B-24, A-26, two T-6's, four T-34's and a CV-2 just as it was getting dark. There was spotty light rain that probably lead to a late start, but a fine time was had by all.

They left around 2:30 or so. They were heading for East Texas (I think I heard Jim say Tyler).
Sounds like I missed a good time at Addison!

There was an airshow over Cedar Creek Lake, 3rd or 4th year for it.
Started with a couple Extras followed by a skydiver. Then came the two smoking T-28s, after that was the cool stuff! 3 B25s, Devil Dog, Yellow Rose (GRRRR @ her bra) and Pacific Prowler. For the finale, the Air Force showed up with a hot shot F16 jock tearing it up, a C-130 making some nice low passes and finally a couple A-10s flying close formation ended the show.
I guess the homeowners in one particular neighborhood (Pinacle) pony up all the money for this.
Editing pics now......was real cloudy and low light so the results are mixed.

About five pm today I was working in my garage with the door open and heard loud pointy things coming. I went out on the driveway as four F-16's passed over, low and (for a 16) slow. They were heading straight north and carrying a full load of stuff underneath.
And yesterday, I saw the local AgCat again, so I got to hear a Pratt 1340.

Just heard and then saw three Marsh S2T air tankers heading north east to Sacramento from KSTS (Charles M. Schulz Airport, Santa Rosa, CA). Their spacing was about 5 seconds apart. Back in the day the Curtiss-Wright R-1820's would have sounded great. It also would have made me run out of the apartment faster to see what's coming other than the turbine.
