Warbird Information Exchange

I haven't read everyone else's yet, but to the best of my recollection I have the following:

1. a unidentified piece of aluminum from a B-52 (from a shredder).
2. a 4" square of aluminum skin from the MAAM P-61.
3. a 4" square of aluminum skin from the NEAM B-29. (my brother was on the restoration team and cut it from a damaged panel that was to be thrown out.)
4. a piece of aluminum skin from 'Doc.'
5. a control stick from a F-4 Phantom.
6. 2 - 30mm functional dummies for the GAU-8
7. 1 - German 13mm fired case, picked up in North Africa after my neighbor's unit was strafed by a pair of Bf-109s. Yes, he picked up a lot of things and mailed them home.

Since my previous post in this thread about 4 years ago, I've expanded a little.

In the realm of warbird electronics, I now have eight BC-348 radio receivers, four Command receivers, six command transmitters, and some odds and ends such as connectors and mounting racks and dynamotors.

I have small pieces of aluminum skin from B-24A Ol' 927 and the MAAM P-61. If I ask, I can probably get pieces of skin from B-17 Chuckie (we'll be replacing some sheet metal in the future) as well as a couple of combat-veteran C-47s and maybe a certain B-26K.

I have pistons and spark plugs from B-17 Chuckie and B-25 Pacific Prowler. (anyone have some extra pistons they want to part with, preferably from big-inch radials or V-12s?)

I have a control stick grip from an unidentified F-104 Starfighter.

Not much compared to most WIXers, but it's a start.

Beech 18 SNB-5 1951 Instrument panel
Most instruments for the above (need more if you know of any)
Radio Compass Control Box for above the pilot's seat
One lovely black yoke with nice Beechcraft centre cap
A newly covered Beech 18 rudder
(you get the idea I like Beech 18s?)
A buckle out of the cockpit of a Spitfire found by a guy working on them in the 50s
Most of a Vedeneyev M14 radial engine (the ones in Yaks)
Spinner for the Yak

and a bunch of drawings and paintings I'm doing too!

and Passionate about the Beech 18

Does anyone else have a framed piece of metal from Admiral Yamamoto's Betty? I have been looking for mine for a WHILE. I saw it around here SOMEwhere, a month or two, ago.. It was a nicely framed color photo of the crashed Betty, in the jungle, with a piece of metal mounted to the bottom, and some tex about how & when it was acquired at the scene. It looed like the type of item that someone may have made several of?

I also have a refueling receptacle from a gas tank on the B-24 that crashed into Mt. Humphries above Flagstaff, AZ. I was young enough when I got it to think it would be a "neat" picture frame for a tiny shot of a 24, but now I just enjoy looking at it from time to time and thinking about where it came from.

I gotta admit that standing amid the crash debris, high above northern Arizona, I held it and prayed thank you and I appreciate who you were and what you did, out of respect to whomever might have been listening and watching, and also just in case. Didn't want any bad juju coming home with it.

This would have to be mine I think.
