The Gray Ghost is coming to Edmonton

Vintage Wings of Canada is bringing their Chance Vought F4U Corsair to Edmonton
for
Aviation Heritage Week
July 26th to July 31st

The Chance Vought Corsair is one of the iconic fighter aircraft of the Second World War. Usually associated with operations by the United States Navy and Marines the Corsair was in fact first flown in carrier operations by the Royal Navy, many of the pilots being Canadians. This aircraft becomes even more special as it is repainted to represent the aircraft flown by Hammond Gray the last Canadian to receive the Victoria Cross, the Commonwealth’s highest award for Military Valour.

The Alberta Aviation Museum is proud to host this aircraft as a tribute to
both Robert Hampton Gray and the 100th Anniversary of the Canadian Navy being celebrated this year.

Your regular admission includes the viewing of this special guest aircraft scheduled to arrive the afternoon/evening of July 26th, 2010. Museum hours are being extended to allow as many as possible to view this amazing piece of history.
