Since were on a "Favorite" theme here, what aircraft has your most favorite paint scheme? For me, I'll go with Big Beautiful Doll.

You pick I supose. Or give us one of each. In the case of the P-47 I mentioned there was an original named just that, and it was once replicated on a restored P-47.

Kinda like this 457th FS, 506th FG Mustang on Iwo. I think it says it all about how we feel about those warbirds.

My personal favourites range from a P-51D's in markings of the 325th FG, "The Checkertail Clan" to simpler red & white schemes like the 339th FG and the blue & white stripes of the 364th. It's too bad that there aren't more P-38's around 'cause they had some great schemes.
I especially appreciate the time and effort it takes to keep a NMF airplane nicely polished as there's nothing more beautiful on the ground or in the sky than a dazzling, mirror-bright P-51 Mustang; unless, of course, it's a dazzling, mirror-bright Ryan ST-A!
