The B-26 picture thread got me to looking back through some B-26 stuff I have, thought I might put a few up here. :) All photos & descriptions are from USFG collections. (United States Federal Govt)

Thanks, I have not taken the time to check Joe's site. Blows me away all the research time he has devoted to it.
Lotta aircrews paid dearly for our victory in Europe. God Bless Em All.

Looks like the bombardier in "Unknown (to me)" didn't forget to take along his stash... :D

Here is my favorite Martin B-26 photo:

Image

The caption reads: 2nd Lieutenant Everett Glen Hanes poses for a picture with his Norden Bombsight in the nose of his Martin B-26 Marauder of the 9th Air Force, 344th Bomb Group, 497th Squadron. For more information on Lt Hanes scroll further down the page on the link below.

Is that "Flakbait" in the head-on shot?

Tough to make out the nose art.

I'm pretty confident this is "Fightin' Cock", B-26B, 131765, with the 450BS/322BG.

Page 28 of Freeman's The Ninth Air Force in Color includes a pic of this bird. She led a rough life: Major repairs for severe flak damage after raid on March 20, 1944. And on August 12 of the same year she lost her hydraulics, bellied onto the runway at Andrews Field, and collided with the control tower--killing both pilots.

Bless 'em all.
