The Navy conducted deck landing trails with a PBJ-1H (equivalent to B-25H) for possible use during the anticipated invasion of the Japanese home islands. A "hooked" PBJ-1H landed on USS Shangri-La on 15 November 1944. Although tests were successful, no operational use was made of this technique.
