Seriously, here's hoping that the P-39 will be easy to repair and will be back in the air soon. I've always liked the Cobras. It's a shame that so few of them have survived. It's been a long time since I've seen one in flight. Breckenridge, perhaps?

Well I never. I suppoze Texas is kinda average size for an Australian State, and we have a big star on our flag, but we don't let it get lonely, we've crossed it up.

Sorry for detracting from the original purpose of this thread, but that picture was bugging me because it could be "more" Australian.

By the way, I just want to say that it is sad that the P-39 will be missing out on the airshow circuit this year (but hopefully not next year) because it is a very unique airplane with a very different history; some might argue a more interesting history than some cessna-esque fighters.

I have yet to see a P-39 in person, let alone see one fly. I can't wait for my opportunity to see one live. Get her flying again soon!

After our trip to give her a good looking over, Cobra Den Maintenance Officer Ray Clausen is VERY optimistic about the time it will take to get the plane back to 100%. He is putting the plan in writing now for wing staff and CAF HQ approval. The plan, as I understand it, includes "field repairs" so that it can be flown back to San Marcos to have the Cobra Den Maintenance Team effect proper repairs, returning her to factory fresh status. Don't scratch her from the second half of the airshow season yet!
