Wendovertom - I recall seeing some pictures in the past of some of these Libs, and the cockpit sections were still attached to the fuselages, so I would think these cockpit sections might still remain.

This is slightly off topic, but was brought to mind with Tom's joke about the Corsair tail.

At the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia, there is a rather tall building adjacent to the main assembly building. When asked what this structure was, an old-time Lockheed employee told me that it was the world's largest whorehouse. When asked to explain, he said that it was where the C-5 went to get its tail.

Man - that would be great if a cockpit section could be recovered - it seems like the nose wouldn't be terribly hard to fabricate. Here's to hoping!

Main, dump looks to be off the NE end of the strip as indicated in the Pacificwrecks website..,

found something else out of place on the extreme SE corner as well.

That Corsair was continually shown in clips during the Reality TV show "Survivor: Palau" series a few year back.

the 330thbg - I believe the Angaur graveyard with the Libs and Corsair is actually north of the road, near the ocean, under heavy jungle canopy, so not viewable from the air.

Also read that there is a Billy resting in the jungle. A fellow based there in the 70's cut off one of its prop blades. I wasn't aware that B-25s were based there, maybe one crash-landed on the island.

It seems pretty hard to find much info on the Angaur aircraft remains.
