I'm several thousand miles from my copy of Squadron-Signal's "C-130 Hercules in Action". We're working on a morale patch and I seem to remember that, in the final pages, the book mentions an artist named Dave who created a C-130 cartoon character. An internet search has provided zero hits, so I'm throwing this one out to WIXers. If anyone would please provide some info, it would be much appreciated. Or if anyone can make a scan, I can PM an address for the file.

Thanks in advance!
Ken

Ken,

The only thing I could think of was this website of caricature drawings: http://www.caricatureaircraftpictures.c ... sports.htm

Sorry, but I don't have the In Action version.

According to the book, the artist was Dave Davenport.
The book was published long before the internet (1981!) so they give a mail address:

Heck, be original! There are artists here who could do a new design for you, myself included!
I'm love to design a morale patch...

Definitely... throw it out to one of the several WIX artists.

Thanks guys. I'll keep it in mind. Time is short for this project, as is budget, which I guess is why I didn't consider soliciting help.

If it turns out, I hope to take the traditional round "Eagle Driver" patch and convert it for the Herk. If something comes of it, I'll share the results.

Go to Korea...they'll make/sew a patch for you while you stand there...free hand!
