Re: What became of Claude Hendrickson's Skyraider?

Sun Aug 08, 2010 2:04 pm

The gov't does not seem to be there to help the law abiding, tax paying, hard working citizen.

I get it now, you just want to complain about politics and turn this into a political thread.

Since that is the case I submit that Marxism seems to work just great for Wall Street. Socialism for Bankers good, ATF bad now that a Demo is in office. Good thing something like this never happened during previous admins.

Ok since this is now a political thread I'll make my one and only political post.
Let's blame Bush for everything bad that happens ever! Even though he had
a Demcratic controlled congress   It's all the rage after all. :?

I thought it was all Obummers fault. Also Bush had a Republican congress for his first 6 years in office and the they were in control from 94 to 06.

Ok school is out. I'm going to go sit in my wildcat project and feel the knobs.

Funny I never said WHEN my dad died did I. Just to put some egg on your face he died 11/3/08. BEFORE Bush left office. The gov't ( on both sides) is out for their power, not the People's. Beaurocrats love the power they hold over us be they EPA,FAA,FCC, etc.

For once I'd like a gov't official to say " I'm sorry to hear your father died, let me see how we can help you with this.". Instead I got "I'm gonna fine you and put you in jail". You want to talk politics, and how much liberty we've lost? Ok , but this OP MAY be about some bean counter lording their power over an honest citizen in a pickle. Maybe the citizen was trying to pull one over on the gov't if so he should be found guilty in a court.

Having been in my own pickle, and not gotten any help for all the money I've sent the gov't in taxes over the years just grinds my gears. I don't care who is leading the gov't, a Marxist Like President "spread the wealth" Obama, or a "conservative" Bush. They both seem to have lead gov't with a guilty until proven innocent beaurocracy.

Like was said gov=bad in too many cases these days.

I suspected as much. I'm in total agreement with you on our gov't. You have just made my point for me, there is no diffference in who is in power the end result for you and me is the same. I like my eggs sunny side up.

When I first bought my O2-A the insurance company wanted me to do 4 hours of airshow with a experienced airshow pilot. FAA regs limit the crew during airshows. My first show I did not fly as the FAA would not let my instructor up with me as they considered essential srew for an O2 to be 1. I finally took my request to 3 other FAA folks. I took the letter from the insurance company. We sat down, we talked, and the FAA representative said, "that makes sense". In one weekend I logged enough time to make the insurance company happy, and I think I became a safer pilot as I had an extra set of eyes in an unfamilar environment.

I wish all were like that man who when brought a question by an honest person just trying to learn and be safe was able to apply the rule and say "I think this second crewman is essential to flight safety". The regulations were followed, and the intent of a safer flight was reached.

I know we need gov't and all it brings, I just wish they'd listen a little more when we speak.

That was thoroughly entertaining. Now, does anyone on the Warbird Forum know anything about the Warbird in question?

Since no one else seems to have any word, Claude was thru VKS in his T-6 a month or 2 ago. The investigation & related BS is still going on & he's still worried about possibly going to jail. He was in a hurry trying to beat a storm & that's about all he said.

I spoke with his Dad at the Tuscaloosa, AL airshow(he was there with a P-51). According to his Dad everything is just kind of on hold. The Government has not really talked to him in several months about the topic. They are very worried about the potential of jail time even though they claim that they tried to do everything upfront and by the book.
