Does anyone in the Eugene, Oregon area know if the Oregon Air & Space Museum is still open? Their website has been gone for several months.

Hi Pat,
As far has I know there still open. but they have had there troubles. First they have a poor location. The Eugene airport is far off the beaten path for driving, secondly it's not really a destination spot for weekend flyers with no restaurant and post 9/11 security for the airlines. They really want to sell their hangers and move to Salem here which would be a great location due to fly-in traffic and freeway access (3/4 mile). Their biggest problem is that Evergreen has been using their connections to get aircraft from them like the F-4 mig killer and now their after the F-86F for their museum which really sucks. Evergreen also took the x-Bill Reesman Yak Attack Yak-50 from them. Sorta like David vs Gollith except David's getting squashed here.

Yes, the museum is still there (I just drove by it a few minutes ago), and is open Wednesday-Sunday.

I took my first tour a few months ago, and the guys who run it are super nice and more than willing to spend time answering questions, etc.

The F-86 is still there, as is the half-burned MIG, and they have an A-6 Intruder in the back hanger.
