There has been a flurry of activity around the CASC. The 1901 Whitehead flyer is being repaired and recovered. Learning to use the sewing machine seems to be skill needed around our shop.
What would the proper fabric be for use on the Corsair. During our archeology we have found remnants of fabric have been on the Corsair that almost seems like it was rubberized. Perhaps from the doping?

Original would have been Grade A cotton.

I would really suggest using poly-fiber mid weight from aircraft spruce. won't rot, easy to use and repair etc. all important if airplane is going back outside. Dope/ cotton is also highly flammable and can warp a structure if applied incorrectly.
A/C spruce also sells a neat little kit that lets you experiment with the system first. you can't tell what covering has been used after it's painted..... play it safe.
