I think the USAF Museum sent theirs to the SAC Museum.

Tim, The B-1A went to the Strategic Air & Space Museum (formely known as the SAC Museum) when the USAF Museum took delivery of their B-1B.

Wasnt it mentioned here on the WIX in the past that the B-47 was going to MAPS?

That was the plan at one time, but it will not be happening now. Instead MAPS decided to pick up the F-100, F-101, F-102, and F-105 from FLA. There was a F-84 mooted at one point as well, but I don't know the status on that plane.

Geez, I live so close to the museum yet I barely know what's going on down there anymore. After reading the last several posts I decided to stop down this afternoon. The first guy I asked about the B-1A seemed to have no idea what I was talking about. He told me there was a B-1 in "the middle building". I told him I wasn't referring to the B-1B,but rather the white B-1A that used to sit outside the restoration hangar. So,he told me that the B-70 was still inside over their. Sheesh.
Anyway,a more knowledgeable guy in the Cold War gallery confirmed for me that the B-1A had indeed gone to another museum, but he wasn't sure which one. I didn't even realize that it was gone. I feel so out of the loop.
Oh,well...at least I got to see the beautiful CF-100 and the "new" RF-86.

Glad to see they've got a Matador missile. I've not seen another Matador anywhere, but one of its brothers, a Mace, is on a pylon alongside I-75 at Warner Robins, GA.

My father worked on these missiles in the early 50's at Martin. He was in autopilot design.
