That is neat. It will be interesting to see the Cranberry back in its SEA markings. I guess that the M706 Commando armored car will also go back on display when the renovation of the MFG is complete.

No better time to find out if they really have an A-1H Skyraider in storage and ensure space is saved to get the darn thing put on display next to Fisher's A-1E.

Sucks to hear about the EB-57 being repainted. I am a big Vietnam war historian and that is great but she came from the VTANG to go to WP and alot of the old VTANG members were proud that one of their birds was on display there. It wont be me that tells them......it will break their hearts

A repaint of the EB-57 ought to be stopped. Here you have somewhat of a time capsule in that the airplane probably has had little cosmetic attention since its arrival in Dayton. All the stencils and markings are pure. To repaint it now with Sherwin-Williams (as was mentioned in another thread) would be an absolute travesty, even if it makes the SEA display more complete. Let's not re-invent the wheel!

Put the airplane in the SEA display and create some darn fine posterboards that show what B-57s looked like in camo and celebrate that she was preserved "as-is". (Not to mention the cost savings in skipping the repaint.)

Standing by to hear that it's too late and the stripping has already begun.

Well there is another thought to her preservation as is...............Correct me if I am wrong but all of the aircraft are painted as they would have been with the Airforce........I think she is the only airplane in there that would represent State Air Guards???????

Yep when I was last there, she still had "Green Mountain Boys" on her tanks!

Not accurate. Off the top of my head: The KC-97, the F-84F and the F-86H cutaway are ANG birds in their last paint schemes. Their might be more. I can't recall or see if the Scorpian still wears Maine ANG markings.





My understanding from conversations at the museum is that this is the last paint job this aircraft wore when retired to the museum from the OANG in 1970

Rick, I liked the old scheme better, but in all fairness, this current scheme is the scheme that this B-57 actually wore in Vietnam. Does that mean you won't paint names all over the sides of the 105?

You know what names Haha. You know I'm joking around. But is there a 105 that is on the watch list for you guys. I know the ones in Dayton aren't going anywhere, but are there any left in AMARC?
