So..... is this one of the fabled Texas airplane factory's new build replicas or a completely different new build replica?

It's one of the Texas Airplane Factory rebuilds from many years ago. It was previously at the Lone Star Flight Museum at Galveston, Texas until it got damaged in the hurricane. It still needs to be rebuilt and is not currently flying.

Its only real damage from Hurricane Ike was inundation. We rinsed it with a ton of freshwater, then Corrosion Xed the heck out of it. All of the fabric was cut then flushed. The saltwater almost got the magnesium wheels but I believe we got to them in time. The engine was drained of water then filled with diesel fuel to pickle it.
