Actually I think you are thinking of 1426, linked above it's on Kiriwina Island. 1417 crashed in Ohio I found out after googling it.

John - I was going by what was said in the book THE FORGOTTEN FIFTH. It said 40-1417, piloted by a 2nd Lt. Hayes, crashed on April 8, 1942 in New Guinea and was still intact. Book was written in 1997.
