I've read about them, never saw them though.

As a guy who grew up seeing the Thunderbirds every year (and as a result find the whole airshow thing a bit boring) I'd love to have seen them.

Can't access youtube from here, but I'm assuming this is the classis black and white film of the Horsemen out over the desert southwest, IIRC? Dubbed in radio calls with a bit of a southern twang?

Those guys were great. Acoording to the informative link below, they disbanded in 1960. Sad thing is that if we proposed this today, the force of the rejection from on high would be beyond overwhelming!

The C-130A was a real hotrod. Without the pylon tanks, and a higher aileron boost pressure, the roll rate was phenominal. The three bladed props gave it a shorter ground run and the basic airframe weight was around 65,000 lbs. as compared to the later E/H version which weighed around 78,000 to 85,000 empty.
