Interesting article. Where is that hangar? Did they construct that or is that part of the Ford plant?

Bravo YAM team...in our last visit to Thunder Over Michigan with the SBD I fondly remember the ambiance of the old hangar; especially with the Avenger taxiing up to the reviewing stand!
Very glad things are on the comeback trail.....

The building that will open on 10/10/10 is on the east side of the airport. It was the former MIAT school. The high bay is not big enough for our flyables. It will house restoration projects underway and some displays. The intent is to get back to having a museum that is open to the public. It will help us tell the story of Yankee and what we want the muesum to become. We hope to have a new flyable hangar up for next year. There are still a few seats open for the Reopening Celebration on 10/09/10. The party starts 6 years to the minute that the alarm went into the Fire Department. Info on the web site
