Smoothest R2800 that I've flown - low vibration & very natural power response - no lags going up or down in power.
Stick & rudder - again very harmonized, felt very natural in the amount of control deflection input & the aircraft response.
Surprisingly high roll rate for the large airframe!! Stalls are straight forward with good warning in airframe shudder.
Very stable in straight & level for photo flights. It would go where you wanted just by 'thinking'....no need for dramatic control inputs...minor correction got it done.
Super stable on landing. once on the ground tracks dead straight like a 4-8-4 locomotive!
Remember, these comments are for this airframe....not all P-47s.

Amen! Another of my favorite subjects to photograph (would love to get UP "844"/"8444", the only Steam Locomotive running never retired from service!).
