We're turning our attention to finding the missing landing gear parts for our G.46 rebuild. We've obtained replacement gear legs and obtained a couple of sets of tyres (errr, sorry, tires), but we still need wheels and brakes.

I understand from someone with a lot more knowledge than me that the wheels and brakes on the Fw-149 are the same as those on the G.46. That of course leads me to the inevitable question, that being of course from where can these be obtained? Are there any stockists of parts for the 149? Any leads would be most welcome. Unserviceable units for parts would also be welcome.

We've considered upgrading to Cleveland brakes, but would prefer to keep her as stock as possible.

Many thanks,

G

Hiya... you should contact Ollie on this board. He owns and operates a FW-149.

Good luck!

Cheers,
Richard

Thanks Richard, hopefully Ollie will see this and comment, although I believe from a previous post of his that they're running Cleveland units.

If anyone is interested in keeping track of progress they can check out the Facebook page at: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Classi ... 209?v=wall

It goes without saying, if anyone knows of the whereabouts of any G.46 parts, please let me know.

G

Sorry, I meant to say, the wheels we're after are by Magnaghi and the brakes Messier. I forget the specific type, but any leads would of course be very welcome!

George

If you have part numbers they could be run through ILS.

Not likely, granted, but stranger things have happened.
