I just stumbled across this. A CH-47 needs to be saved from the scrap man. Go to...

Dont understand why the trans museum at Eustes would just take it........I am sure they could put it back together.

I think it should stay as it is or thrown in the scrapper. It is to far gone considering the cost to restore it.

Mike--

Thanx for the vector...I could see this one in at least three different Ontario collections for starters: CWH (static/"classroom" a la the 727 and eventually the Buffalo)--of course it was a Chinook that airlifted most of the Lanc in to the Hope in '79; RCAFM; or even Mr Carlaw's collection at Campbellford. I'll notify the curator at Trenton and try emailing CWH too, for a start...Twenty years ago I'd have been writing to Walt instead!

mentioned this story to my Father and he in turn talked to some of the folks at The Aviation Museum of Kentucky. He told me that they were interested and would be willing to give the Chinook a home. The only hang up is the logistics and transportation issue. Hopefully something can be worked out here soon.
