I just got my copy in the mail yesterday. There's a fantastic 16-page article by Rob Mears on the history and restoration of the FG-1D Corsair "Kathleen" that was at Oshkosh this year. If there's anybody here who isn't a subscriber, you've really got to hunt down a copy and take a look. There's an amazing amount of detail, and great pictures from its recovery from El Salvador all the way through its long restoration to some great air-to-air stuff. Well done Rob! There are also articles about the Gathering of P-38 Lightnings, and the Reno Air Races.

Rob,

By far, that was one of the best WD articles I've seen in a LONG time. That article was the true essence of what this magazine is all about. Thanks, and I hope we see some more of your contributions in the future!

Tailwinds and T-6's forever...

Got it in the mail but I haven't had time to read any of yet. Looking forward to it though!

Mike, the Corsair is now owned by The Bosarge Family Collection (see: http://www.warbirdradio.com/2010/10/the ... -thursday/).

Wow. John O'Connor sure did not own it for very long. The price must have been right.

Hopefully they are financially sound. The last family, the Costos, that bought three Mustangs in rapid succession including Dago Red, went south in a hurry!!
