No offense, but I'm pretty sure I could scratchbuild my own for signifigantly less than $20K, but why would anyone even want one?

@Dan Jones

Maybe you could build a simple look a like at a much lower price,
But it is then only a simple look a like. If you want to do it more realistic,
maybe with the orginal steering, Armour Plates, bulletproof glas, a replica of the
HWK-109-509 engine (static or working?) you will see that you need much more money and time,
then you think at the moment.

Now I have the time, to reply much more detailed.

The Bachem will be constructed orginally, that means it got the heavy wooden Airframe.
The Bachem is small, but it uses a massive construction. I build very orginally, including the
cockpit and it's steering. The back will include the parachute. About the engine and tanks i am
not sure, because the HWK engine is very complexive, even just a simple replica of it would take much time.
The construction will include the armour, and the 50mm bullet-proof-glas. I am now working om the 1st prototype,
which stays at my home. I asked beacuse of it dimensions it fits into an normal garage, the price is just planned,
for very thing i produce, i make a dokumentation about the time and materials I need, so the price is unterstandable.

If you have Questions feel free to ask.

MfG Thomas

I wish you the best of luck with the project, but what do you expect people to do with it afterwards? What are you going to do with yours? Twenty grand is alot of money for a lawn ornament.

It will be secondary attraction of the Fw 190 Project.
Something to sit in and "feel" a real WW2 Warbird, while the Fw 190 is build.
I already thought of equiping the plane as an simulator with 3 LCD screen and the steering
systems connected on a PC, would be quite fun.

Maybe there is also the thought of just building the cockpit without armour
but with mountings for LCD screens and a Joysrick for the PC.

Maybe it is just static, but it is history. I know a collector who has a rebuild static 109
for around a million, but such things are just for a very small group of collectors.
And a real WW2 Warbird for the price of around 20k is still cheap if you look on a Fw190 or a 109.
