Ended up getting 2 H-1 Hallmark Ornaments. Then I went out and bought 4 more for 40% off today!

Still looking for the first four of the series to complete the set:

1997 #1-Wright Flyer
1998 #2-Curtiss Jenny
1999 #3-Curtiss R3C-2
2000 #4-Spirit of St. Louis

Anyone have an extra they'd like to sell / trade? :)

Ebay will be your best friend for finding those. You're just lucky you don't need a Staggerwing or GeeBee. Those don't go very cheap these days.

Book- Bury Us Upside Down from my dad. I have read the book before but was borrowed from a friend while he read my copy of "Cheating Death". So now I have my own copy and the information that one of the pilots mentioned and pictured in the book lives in Vermont :) so now to get it signed!! Will be a great addition to my books that have signatures.

So Lynn are you planning on working on Rod Lewis' A-20 now that you got the manuals? You can always put it in the underground bunker if need be.

I got the Hallmark ornament of the Huighes H-1 back when they were first released. It keeps the set complete.
Gee, I wish I'd picked up an extra Staggerwing, I'd hang it from the rearview mirror of my truck...I did buy an extra C310 for that).

My main aviation gift was a new copy of the Hawker Aircraft book published by Putnam/Naval institute Press to help complete my Putnam aircraft series.
And just for fun (I was ordering something for my wife so i thought migh as well to save on shipping, I got the new photo book on USAF Interceptors.
It features a few photos of planes at bases when I was there as a kid...right up to my first military assignment where there was a F-106 tenant unit.

A 4ft WACO sign with our new name on it "Tailwinds Flying Service" for our hangar. We will soon be getting one of our 145hp Warner engines overhauled as a gift to "us".

My wife is a big Hallmark fan, and a few years back she started getting these for me... and she went through the trouble and expense of finding ALL of the big series (including the Staggerwing and Gee Bee, which were close to 30.00 each at that time) as well as ALL of the mini series as well, so I have a 100% complete set.

No, you can't have it. :)

As an aside, I really, REALLY like that H-1... sometimes I wish they'd scale up their efforts to 1/48, LOL.

Lynn

I need to do some more research but, they didn't make a mini for each full scale, did they?
