I remember back in the 70s, Triumph had an ad for their Triumph Spitfire with, naturally, a real Spitfire and BofB ace Ginger Lacey in the background.

Lucas also built refrigerators, thus the warm beer!

Lucas also build vacuum cleaners. They were the only Lucas product that didn't suck.

(In truth, my own beloved Spitfire 1500 had more mechanical problems than electrical problems, which isn't to say that it didn't have electrical problems.)

There's currently a commercial running around here for cable TV (or maybe it's satellite) in which a male and female announcer are standing in front of a bank of TV monitors. In several shots video of a B-17 taking off is shown..I think it may be Liberty Belle.

Had a '72 Triumph Bonneville 750 that had Lucas electrics. AAARRRGGGHHH. :ouch:

Mudge the ex-biker/motorcyclist

You do know the difference between a motorcycle and a bike?
A "Bike" had "Harley-Davidson" on it in every, conceivable location and is usually found in the back of a pick-up truck.
Whereas a "Motorcycle" is either yellow, green, or purple (or all of the above) and says SUZUYAMAHONDA on it and is most likely doing a wheelie.

ps. You often see a crowd gathered around a H-D counting the number of H-D logos on it.
You rarely see a crowd gathered around a "rice-burner" that's not on fire. :hide:

Most important rule of Harley ownership:

The fact that you own a Harley isn't nearly as important as making sure everybody else knows you own a Harley!
