All--
Bad news/good news...One of the CF Snowbirds' CT-114 Tutors crashed this afternoon near Thunder Bay, Ontario en route to an airshow in that city. Pilot, Capt. Andrew Mackay, ejected safely and parachuted down. The show was summarily cancelled when news of the crash reached the organizers. Above info from CBC.ca website.
(Wednesday afternoon seems an odd time for an airshow, but this may be similar to the United Way campaign kickoff event held at Brantford, which is always the Wednesday before Labour Day).

Steve,
Thanks for the info. Lets hope that his injuries are very minimal.
It's never a good thing to hear about any accident, but the Snowbirds definitely don't need any publicity like this.
The Snowbirds also performed on a Wednesday morning in June a few days before the opening of the annual Canadian Aviation Expo in Oshawa.
