I'm counting down the days till Classic Fighters 2011 at Omaka (New Zealand) this Easter and thought I would try my hand at putting a teaser video using video and stills I(mostly) took at the 2009 show. And yes I own a tripod now ha ha.
The first one is with a music soundtrack, the second one is without music apart from the music of aircraft engines!! Corsair fans will love the second one!

I've been to the Classic Fighters show in NZ twice now and can attest that it is a terrific show. Being a WW1 guy I really just go to see that old birds, but I have to say that Keith Skilling's Corsair routine is INCREDIBLE. He really puts that Corsair through its paces and shows off the raw power of the machine. NZ airshow restriction obviously aren't as tight as the FAA restriction here in the US, so it all happens right in your lap too! Its truly an adrenaline pumping display. I've been to a lot of airshows and seen a lot of Corsair acts, but that's the only time that I've ever actually heard the fabled "Whistling Death".

Are you coming to 2011? Yeah I know what you mean about keith and the Corsair. Chatting with a few pilots at the show they mentioned that he likes to make his last display of the show as close to the crowd (as safely as possibly).......that way if CAA wags their finger at him its the last day of the show.........................until the next one :D

No, I'm not planning on coming this year. With the show being later in the month this year the logistics just didn't work out this time around. My wife can't get the time off in late April that she can in early April. I think we may try to time our next trip down to correspond with one of TVAL's shows at Hood. That's where the real fun for me is! :D
