Help Needed...P-40 Updates for Oz and NZ!

I think a lot of these P-40's will never be built by their owners.
Most will be sold on,a lot of these people don't realise how much money and time goes into it.
Some of these aircraft have been going to be built fore over 10 years and will never get started.
I think there is a real need to be noticed as a restorer and have a project,
But most of these people are recognised by us all.
I spose they are colecting parts that could be lost for all time and that is a good thing.
John Fallas's P-40 N5 can't be far off Judys F looks good.Allan's N1 looks well under way,but i don't know if he will keep it or not.
Gus Larard and Spalding have a fuse.
The rest don't look to be going anywhere for some time.

Hi Dave

So who did the N model go to and how bad is the K and where did it come from . I understand if it can't be talked of but it would tidy up some lists I have if I knew

Don't know off hand who the N went to, I will ask if I remember when I am back in the office. The K came from the Islands and consists of about 5m. of center section from firewall back, a couple of smashed up and incomplete wings and tail planes, plus sundry 'bits'

His name is John Smith (I know what you are thinking but it really is) he has two P-40s ( see my earlier post on this thread).

And no, they are not for sale, he is happy with them just as they are.

There was supposed to be a K model for sale in Kiwi land recently - does anybody know where this might have been ? apparently it was a rough basic aircraft with some rough restoration done on it?

Sadly Mick I have to agree with you.

Two issues I think
1) As you say people don't know what they are getting into cost and time wise

2) The aircraft wrecks are worth so much now it is hard to resis selling the wreck and taking the profit from the big money owners and restoration shops, Especially if you paid peanuts/free for it in the first place.
