You're in luck. Koster just released a B-17 set that includes 7 different noses. 3 are for the B-17F.

More details here:

Thank goodness you posted that, rcaf_100, because I was thinking about volunteering to try it..... :Hangman: That looks like another excellent Koster product, as usual.

Huh!....Appearently I forget to post that here, sorry folks!

Yes, that set is awesome, you realy can a a few differant aircraft out of the kit depending on how you use it. There are 3-4 nose cones for the F alone. I say that 3-4 because there is a solid (no gun) nose cone that will work for either an early F model before they put guns through the nose cone. Or it will work for the very late F models that had the chin turret, OR a very early G model.

Plus, you can use use the any of the F nose cones (with gun ports) and not use the bulged cheeks and get 2 correct F model variations, seriously, there are a lot of possibilities.

I highly recomend this product!

Boy., Scott., i bet your heart stopped for a second as you opened up that link.., then began to slowly beat again once you saw there was no 'YB' nose there! :(

Not that your own vacuform is not going to blow these out of a tank! :drinkers:

Cheers, buddy! :)

He's referring to the nose for the Y1B-17.
Scott's currently working on a conversion from the Monogram B-17G: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=25311

I was actually very happy that Koster had done the F stuff so I wouldn't have to try! As far as the YB goes, just about the time I finish my project a styrene kit will become available. It's happened to me before with a couple of vacuform models I spent months on......... It's all part of the fun of model building, though.

Thanks for the pic.Does the nose glass fit well all the way around sta 1?There is a picture on ebay that shows the inside machine gun support really well.
