This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Received an email today from the Fighter Collection saying that the Red Bull P-38 and Corsair are going to appear at Flying Legends this year in their only UK appearance.

Mudge - You are LUCKY, I would love to go to Duxford the weekend of July 9-10. But I would also be staying for the air show the following weekend July 16-17 - the Royal International Air Tatoo (RIAT) to see some great JETS (Sorry Mudge!), especially "Team Viper" with FIVE Hawker Hunters!

A guy who did some artwork for me who attends Duxford every year invited us to stay at his place for the RIAT weekend. Great opportunity but I just don't enjoy jets.

Mudge, if you can up to that Red Bull P-38, pat that thing on the left wingtip for me, I changed it out after Lefty stuck it in a tree or fence post at Reno many moons ago.

And yea I still have the wingtip I took off

Are you kidding?? If you like vintage jets like me, Rhode Island will be the place to be in late June to see The Horsemen flying a 3-ship Sabre routine (only one on east coast this year).
http://www.riairshow.org/index.htmlCheck out Air Show Buzz for discussion on this air show and others. If Corsairs are what you really want you have to go to Thunder Over Michigan in July where there are at least seven Corsairs currently scheduled in the warbird lineup.

thanks for the info. Michigan is just too far for me. As for the rhode island show, it doesn't say anything about ww2 aircraft. Are they going to have it?

Not sure about WWII a/c at the RI show, but it is a Centennial of Naval Aviation show so I would be surprised if there aren't at least going to be some WWII Naval warbirds on static display. Reading, PA (MAAM World War II Weekend) the first weekend in June will have a great WWII aircraft display including FIFI the B-29. But that may still be too far for you from MA.

reading is a stretch too but i heard it's well worth it!

There is also a World War II airshow in Virginia Beach at the Military Aviation Museum on May 20-22,2011. It has reenactors, period music, and the warbirds from the museum will be flying. The The WWII Airborne Demonstration Team Foundation,
www.wwiiadt.org, is also scheduled to be there. Chuckie should be back and be flying in the airshow.
