Re; The Albatross at the Chanute Museum.
Anyone remember 51-7200 from the old Monogram model kit?

IIRC, it was the prototype for the "B" models.

Blew past Pate the other morning while running errands down that way. There was some scaffolding errected in front of the right engine on the 119. The 101 and the Banana were looking sorta forlorn.

With the closing of Pate, the aircraft reverted to their actual owner, which in the case of the USAF aircraft is the National Museum of the US Air Force. We were offered both the H-21 and the F-101 for loan to our collection. NMUSAF also offered us the H-21 that was at Wings Over the Rockies, which was in much better condition, so we took that. It is now on display. We already had an F-101 at our restoration center in Marana, AZ, so we passed on the one at Pate. Not sure who got the C-119, but that is certainly one that is high on our wish list!

Nice job on the Albatross....... now a quick question for you guru's.... at one time it was reported that the museum had a FWF for an AM-1 Martin Mauler.... does anyone have pics, and the more burning question.....if this hardware existed....where is it now? alan

Ahhhh....it must be Matt B.??

John sent me a couple of the pics a week or so back. I wouldn't post them up without your groups ok. Seems like a pretty good Goat following here.

I'll be in Florida in a few weeks. There might be an old CG HH-34 not to far from you guys that was last reported sitting in a field. I might take a look for it.

Hey Matt,

I might make it over to the Sun-n-Fun show. That helo is supposed to be in the Ft Meade area. If I get that far maybe I'll stop in for a looksee. If you have the engines and props cleaned up, can you post up some pics?
